Studies on the Capability Evaluation for Korean Apple Orchard

Abstract
This study was conducted by Hayashi¢¥s theory of quantification No. 1 with the various factors in order to evaluate and to predict gross income and income. As the result of preliminary data processing by Hayashi¢¥s theory of quantification No. 1 with physiographical and managemental factors, nine variables such as management ability(MAAI), family labor(FALA), production cost (PDCOG), protection cost(PTCOG), sale after storage(STM), land form(LF), climatic zone(CLIZ), age of tree(AGTC), and fertility group(FTYG) were retained as the explanatory variables to predict gross income and income.
Therefore, a trial was done to predict the gross income from the above nine variables by means of Hayashi¢¥s theory of quantification No.1. As the result multiple correlation coefficient(R) was as high as 0.92 in a set of variables. The coefficient of determination(R©÷) was 0.85. Above coefficient was high enough to explain total variance of gross income.
We could proceed to predicting the income from the same variables and the same method. The results that the R was 0.89 and the R©÷ was 0.79 explained about 80% of total variance of income. The contributive degree to gross income and income as explanatory variables was ordered-became low from the above to the below-as follows; MAAI, AGTC, FTYG, CLIZ, LF, FALA, PDCOG, PTCOG, and STM, but PTCOG was more contributive to gross income than to income, while the STM was more contributive to income than to gross income.
